G39 Apartment,

completed

An older couple with grown children, bought a partly designed secondhand apartment in a new building in Tel Aviv, to get closer to their grandchildren.

The brief was clear, they needed a spacious public area that could fit all family members at family gatherings, plenty of storage, a spare bedroom for the grandchildren and a spacious bedroom for themselves.

Though the building itself was only a few years old, the apartment’s layout was tweaked every time it changed hands. The kitchen and the lounge area were previously treated, but since then, a wall was removed resulting in a space that looked patchy and uneven. By removing some additional walls in the communal space and adding bespoke cabinetry in the entrance, the Dining area and the bedroom we were able to achieve a coherent space while adding plenty of storage.

A palette of neutrals and earthy tones was selected to complement the existing design elements in the apartment which resulted in an airy grown up and peaceful haven.
